As we try to help people become and remain rooted in Christ, we recognize that spending an hour and a half in a church building with each other once a week will always be insufficient in accomplishing this goal. And so on top of Sunday Services, Grafted meets regularly outside of the four walls of a church building to connect with each other and journey together towards a deeper, more intimate relationship with God Almighty.
One way we do this is through celebrating worshiping God through the eating of a meal together every 2nd Sunday of the month. We call this our Second Sunday Supper. It is still at 4pm, but members of our church host this meal in their houses, instead of gathering at the All Nations Baptist Church building. For details about where the Second Sunday Supper will be hosted this month, contact Pastor Dave, he would love to help get you connected to our community.
Another opportunity we take to meet regularly outside of the All Nations Baptist Church building is on the 4th Sunday of the month when we gather to serve somewhere in the Twin Cities. We call this our Service Sunday. While what we are doing from month to month may change, we want to follow the call that God gave to His people when they were in exile in Babylon:
“…7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” (Jeremiah 29:7)
Pastor Dave‘s email inbox might fill up with people asking where we are meeting this week as a church, but he can certainly help you know where we will be serving this month.
And lastly, at Grafted, we value gathering in smaller groups in the middle of the week as a place for growth, accountability, and connection in the context of community. We hope to encourage one another through the joys and sorrows of life by studying God’s Word, praying together, and challenging one another to take another step in our walks with Jesus. There are two main nights when small groups meet. On Wednesdays the youth small group meets for a meal and studying the character of God at Pastor Dave’s house starting around 5:45pm and lasting until about 7:15pm. And on Tuesday nights we gather in multiple different smaller groups in Minneapolis and the northern suburbs. These groups meet for a semester and then rotate so that everyone in the church gets a chance to get to know everyone else in the church in these more intimate settings over time. These groups will typically eat a meal together starting around 6:30pm-ish, but each group falls into its own routines, as unique as the people who make up the group.
